So today I was playing in a freeroll at Pitbull Poker and managed to finish in the money but the funny thing sbout this experience is that I did not once have a chip count over 10,000. My stack would get low, I would wait until I had something to play and then I would go all in. Got really lucky a few times, until the last hand I played.
I was once again the short stack at the table and my pocket cards were A-K suited. So I go all-in and get nothing at all, was busted out by a par of Queens. No big deal, it was fun, and for my two and a half hours of fun I managed to collect a whopping .60 cents. ok its not about the money, its good practice and you get $10 free just for signing up to Pitbull Poker.

Todays Freeroll Story
Poker TV News
Poker TV News
It will not debut for a couple months but I am excited about a new poker show coming to NBC. It is called “Poker After Dark” and will air 6 nights a week!!. On the 7th day (Sunday), it will rest. It debuts Jan. 2 at 2am EST on NBC. It is hosted by former WPT-host Shana Hiatt. Here is some of what CardPlayer.com has to say about the show:
_____
Each night of the original programming will feature an intimate look at one game as it develops over the week, culminating with a win on Friday night. Saturday night’s show — the “director’s cut” — will recap the week’s events with Hiatt. That week’s winner will offer commentary and insight into the player’s winning strategy.
Set in the back rooms of various Vegas strip casinos, Poker After Dark gives viewers an inside look at a poker game usually reserved for the eyes of the professional poker players themselves. Poker After Dark will feature the best professional players in the world, all of whom will be miked-up during the weekly battles for over $100,000. Each episode will last an hour.
The pros include Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Erick Lindgren, Jennifer Harman, and Gus Hansen.
_____
In other TV news, the 3rd season of High Stakes Poker has been taped. Todd Brunson touches on it in his MySpace blog but can’t say much because it’s confidential. However, I heard new additions this season include Howard Lederer, Joe Hachem, Paul Wasicka and, the coolest of all, Gabe Kaplan will play in the game himself! I wonder if he uses his own money??? It will be very interesting to see what Hachem does in a cash game against the top players in the world. He has certainly proven himself as an elite NL Holdem tournament player over the last two years.

OnlinePokerBlog Answers Your Poker Questions
To OnlinePokerBlog,
I was on the final table, 4 players left. I was in the big blind. Blinds were at 500/1000. I had 6000 left after a tough beat. A guy bumped it up to 6K. I had 10-7 offsuit, and decided i was at worst a 60/40 underdog. I called, and he turns up 4-4. He won the hand, but i was curious if i should have waited for a better spot, or if the expected value justified the call. Bear in mind it was short handed so i went for it.
Thanks,
-PokerPlaya-

Well PokerPlaya, if i were in your shoes I would have been patient and held on just a bit longer waiting for a better hand to play. Unless someone gets knocked out you should have at least 4 more hands before you are back in the big blind. I would have at least held out for a suited set or possibly a large set (ie: AK AQ AJ A10, KQ KJ K10 K9, QJ Q10 Q9 Q8, or even J10 J9 J8 J7) . If my tournament life is going to be on the line, I prefer to be the one taking the aggressive action. Good Luck in the future.
